Job Title: City Surveyor

Join the City of Kingman, AZ team as a City Surveyor and play a crucial role in shaping the city's infrastructure and development. As a key member of the Engineering Division, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and supervising complex survey engineering work, ensuring the accuracy and precision of survey data and maps.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate survey projects, including cadastral, location, and construction surveys.
  • Supervise and train survey party staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Conduct land and construction surveys to develop and maintain survey monuments, boundaries, and benchmarks.
  • Provide technical support for Capital Improvement Programs (CIP) and property acquisition projects.
  • Exercise supervision over Survey Division personnel, either directly or through subordinate supervisors.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school supplemented by two (2) years of college-level coursework in land surveying and engineering.
  • At minimum, an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering, land survey, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in professional, technical survey engineering work, including at least four (4) years of experience leading survey crew activities and knowledge and experience in recording plats and preparing legal descriptions.
  • Arizona state registration as a land surveyor or ability to become registered within six (6) months.
  • Valid Arizona State driver's license or ability to obtain one prior to employment.
