Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert engineering support in the selection and analysis of components for new designs, addressing potential Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS).
  • Lead efforts in components engineering related to obsolescence, standardization, and the definition of engineering data.
  • Prepare part standards and manage procurement control requirements while resolving quality issues and implementing process improvements.

Specific Activities Include:

  • Addressing obsolescence challenges and preventing counterfeit components.
  • Generating detailed reports for customers and facilitating part substitutions.
  • Qualification of second-source parts and preparation of procurement specifications.
  • Resolving issues related to both development and production components.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in the manufacturing processes of electrical components and analysis of their physical properties.
  • Background in Components Engineering with a solid understanding of electronic components at both integrated circuit and discrete levels.
  • Experience with the release and qualification of new components.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with DMSMS challenges.
  • Experience in addressing component-related failure issues, including pure tin concerns and counterfeit detection.
