Job Title: Back Half Outbound Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Back Half Outbound Associate to join our team at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. As a key member of our Ecommerce Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate shipment of items to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, tape guns, postage scales, packing paper/bubble wrap, and other shipping tools and supplies.
  • Examine shipment contents and verify correlating contents with records such as pack sheets, invoices, and orders.
  • Utilize Desktop Shipper shipping software accurately and efficiently to ensure all items are shipped using the most cost-effective carrier.
  • Move materials as needed throughout the warehouse facility to support shipping and transportation in the loading/unloading area.
  • Maintain production environment standards with a positive and team-focused process, assuring optimal efficiencies.
  • Meet or exceed daily productivity goals through the efficient handling of product; processing items quickly and accurately and rotate between stations on a regular basis.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area, follow safety procedures, use PPE as needed, and use body mechanics when performing each task.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sales information.
  • Project and Change Management: Effectively plan and manage own work to reliably complete routine job responsibilities and special assignments. May serve as a team member or subject matter expert on formal projects or within the department. Effectively engage in change, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.
  • Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently. Periodic review of work by manager or senior coworker. Solves problems of moderate to advanced complexity; able to identify root cause, interpret data, and resolve issues.
  • Technical Skill: Understands and applies professional principles and skills within the area of specialization to modify processes to resolve situations.
  • Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill's community engagement initiatives and serves as an ambassador for Goodwill in the wider community.
  • Responsible for completing other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Computer skills with a functional knowledge of word processing and how to use email and internet software.
  • Forklift certification, if required at site.
  • Must be able to function independently in a work setting.

Physical/Sensory Demands:
  • Able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Able to bend and reach to work with merchandise.
  • Able to lift, push, or pull a maximum of 75 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to operate material handling equipment.
  • Able to grasp material for inspection and sorting activities.
  • Able to visually observe merchandise, markings, and up-close use of jeweler loops.
  • Able to work independently.
