Key Responsibilities:

  1. Total Station Operation: Skillfully operate total station equipment to measure distances, angles, and elevations with exceptional precision. Utilize electronic data collectors and surveying software to effectively record and process field data.
  2. Site Layout: Convert design plans and engineering drawings into tangible markings on the construction site. Establish benchmarks, layout points, and control lines to facilitate the installation of equipment, pipe hangers, cable trays, structural supports, and other essential components.
  3. Quality Assurance: Perform regular inspections to confirm the accuracy and consistency of layout markings. Work in conjunction with the on-site quality control team to resolve discrepancies and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  4. Collaboration with Construction Teams: Engage closely with Construction Supervisors, Foremen, and Subcontractors to convey layout instructions and address any challenges that may arise during the construction process.
  5. Coordination with Design Teams: Collaborate with Design Leads and Project Engineers to communicate any design modifications or field changes that occur throughout the construction phase.
  6. As-Built Documentation: Aid in documenting as-built conditions by conducting field surveys and updating layout drawings accordingly. Provide precise data for the creation of record drawings and final project documentation.
  7. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and procedures while working on construction sites. Maintain awareness of site hazards and take necessary precautions to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to maintain exceptional accuracy in survey measurements and layout markings. Follow established procedures and standards to ensure precision and consistency in layout activities.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in dynamic construction environments with changing project conditions and timelines. Prioritize tasks effectively and adjust to shifting priorities and resource constraints as necessary.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with design and construction teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to identify and resolve layout discrepancies, interpret complex design requirements, and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate construction alignment and placement.
  • Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and terminology. Ability to read and interpret construction specifications, project plans, and technical drawings.
  • Design Software Proficiency: Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks/Revizto is advantageous.
  • OSHA 30 Certification: Required for safety compliance.
  • Work Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 6 days a week.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to relocate or travel for short-term assignments.
