Job Summary:

At ORR Protection Systems, we are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm System Installation and Maintenance Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Field Service team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems in the Tampa, FL area. This is a remote position that requires occasional on-call days and/or overtime for unscheduled service needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Take a lead role at customer sites, providing oversight and direction to other ORR technicians or sub-contractors.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Install Coordinator to keep the customer informed on job progress.
  • Complete all necessary job-related paperwork for compliance and documentation.
  • Respond to emergency service requests and take appropriate action.
  • Perform in-depth troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of system equipment.
  • Conduct training with customers on the functionality of the fire system.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Five years' experience in service and/or installation of fire alarm or special hazard fire suppression systems, required.
  • Experience reading blueprints, required.
  • Fire alarm programming experience, required.
  • FASA/BASA license, preferred.
  • Associate degree in electronics or related field, preferred.
  • NICET (Fire Alarm / Special Hazard) certification, preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with intelligent fire control panel programming software.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft and standard internet usage.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset.

Work Environment:
This is a remote position that would be deployed from the associate's home to local job sites for installs, service, or repairs. Company vehicle, tools, technology, and equipment provided. Occasional on-call days and/or overtime required for unscheduled service needs. Job duties require the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and crawl into tight or awkward places. Overnight travel required up to 25% of the time.
