About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Substation Engineer to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a key member of our Power Delivery department, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative solutions for electrical substations and transmission lines.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of designs for assigned structure(s), including research, system selection, analysis, and drawing preparation.
  • Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, project drawings, and project specifications.
  • Incorporate the requirements of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract, customer Requests for Proposals (RFPs), professional service agreements, or other contractual requirements.
  • Research new markets and adapt current process and workflows to successfully execute project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to address structural-related issues or concerns.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural engineering program from an ABET accredited four-year program.
  • At least 2 years' experience in Structural design engineering in the Power/Industrial industry preferred.
  • Functional in utilizing spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and computer operations.
  • Knowledgeable in engineering software, specifically, LPILE and MathCAD, SAP2000 and/or Risa3D, and MFAD and/or Shaft.
  • General knowledge of engineering standards including AISC Steel Construction Manuel, ACI 318, ASCE 7 and 113, and IBC.
  • Eligibility to take Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
