Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Key Holder to join our team at Costello's Ace Hardware. As a Key Holder, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining inventory and operating efficiencies, and leading the store team to achieve sales goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Use the E.C.E.T. (Every Customer, Every Time) process to ensure every customer interaction is positive and memorable.
  • Store Operations: Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements, execute daily operational goals and priorities assigned by store management, and participate in daily huddle meetings.
  • Leadership: Assist in the training and development of peers, uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards, and partner with store management to coach staff on inventory management best practices.
  • Inventory Management: Process new shipments, maintain the receiving and back stock area, and ensure all shipments are packed out in their proper home.
  • Store Security: Be alert for possible merchandise losses, protect all company assets, and report any missing or damaged merchandise to your supervisor.
  • Visual Merchandising: Review daily, W.E.A.D. (Walk Every Aisle Daily), the appearance of in-store and window displays and end caps, and oversee necessary changes to improve overall presentation.
  • Store Maintenance: Monitor all store transfers, expedite all outstanding transfers, and process damaged and defective goods in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Teamwork: Maintain an open and positive relationship with store management team, address all safety concerns immediately, and update store management team about the progress of the store and staff on a regular basis.
Requirements
  • Physical Abilities: Frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 60 lbs., with occasional climbing of stairs and ladders.
  • Education and Experience: Prior work experience in a retail environment and prior management experience.
  • Skills: Strong leadership skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent organization skills, and strong written and verbal skills.
