Job Summary:

The Medical Specimen Collector at MyMichigan Health is responsible for collecting and processing blood and other bodily fluids for laboratory analysis. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients using venipuncture and other techniques.
  • Accurately label and process specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff.
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate test results.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy program or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicle.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift up to 50 pounds.
