Phlebotomist I Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in Barberton, OH. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood specimens from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Administer oral solutions to patients as needed.
  • Verify patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  • Enter data accurately into computer systems and maintain accurate records.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, and preparing for transport.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties, including inventory management, supply ordering, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
