We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and supervision to our residents in a compassionate and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient needs in a holistic manner.
- Supervise and mentor Certified Medication Technicians (CMTs) and Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) to ensure proper care and maintain current assignment sheets.
- Promote individualized, maximum care for each resident physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders, facility policies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
- Monitor and record patient reactions to medications and treatments, reporting significant incidents to the Nursing Supervisor, physician, and responsible party.
- Provide a complete and accurate report about patients to the next shift.
- Assist with the Minimum Data Set (MDS) in a timely manner, using information for care plans and attending resident care conferences as scheduled.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including condition changes, summaries, Medicare notations, physician visits, skin conditions, and cognitive status.
- Makes rounds with physicians, noting changes in patient status and completing required documentation and physician orders.
- Perform all duties in a professional manner, showing kindness, consideration, and cooperation in regards to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
- Must be currently licensed and qualified as a practical nurse in the State of Missouri.
- Knowledge in the proper use of equipment necessary to fulfill physician's orders and facility policies.
- Must possess a specialized interest in geriatrics and nursing care of the chronically ill and convalescent adults.
- Must possess knowledge of regulations governing extended care facilities.
