Position Overview

In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the Lead Surgical Technologist oversees patient care and provides educational support to the Surgical Technologist team, ensuring the delivery of thorough perioperative services and high-quality patient care. This role includes managing the Surgical Technologist team and handling the daily operations of supplies and equipment, allowing the Nurse Manager to concentrate on strategic planning, budgeting, and other essential management tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor Surgical Technologists to ensure adherence to best practices in patient care.
  • Manage inventory and equipment operations to maintain optimal functionality.
  • Assist in quality assurance reviews and performance evaluations to enhance departmental service delivery.
  • Collaborate across multiple units and specialties to foster a cohesive working environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
  • Washington Surgical Technologist Registration upon hire.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • A minimum of three years of recent experience in an operating room setting.

Preferred:

  • At least one year of supervisory experience.
