Job Overview

Preload is expanding and is in search of a Pre-Construction Manager to oversee the initial phases of project development. This role is crucial as it involves providing essential support to District Managers during the project planning stage and managing bid processes to secure successful contracts across the United States.

The key responsibilities of the Pre-Construction Manager include:

  • Analyzing Project Documentation: Review project plans and specifications to clarify requirements and outline the necessary scope of work.
  • Creating Information Requests: Develop requests for information (RFIs) to ensure all inquiries regarding project plans and specifications are addressed.
  • Preparing Bid Documents: Generate requests for quotation (RFQs), requests for proposal (RFPs), or proposals tailored to the project’s needs for bid preparation.
  • Drafting Preliminary Designs: Utilize AutoCAD to create initial layouts for construction site and crane placement assessments.
  • Conducting Calculations: Perform necessary calculations to ensure thorough and complete bid preparation.
  • Evaluating Subcontractors: Assess and provide recommendations to Senior Management regarding the qualifications and pricing of potential subcontractors.
  • Collaborating with Teams: Work alongside the Sales and Management Team to devise strategies and methods for bids, ensuring alignment with revenue objectives.
  • Assembling Bid Packages: Assist in the compilation of bid packages and proposals for submission.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred), Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in estimating or field-related roles.
  • Experience in civil construction or utility sectors is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel & Word) and a working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and regulations, responding effectively to inquiries.
  • Strong writing skills for proposals and professional correspondence.
  • Effective presentation skills to communicate with managers, clients, and public groups.
  • Mathematical proficiency is essential, including the ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
