About the Role
This position is responsible for general accounting processes related to the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for administrating various corporate credit card programs within the Finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform weekly/monthly accounting entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare account reconciliations of general ledger balances to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the monthly closing.
- Lead the administration of two corporate card programs, including issuing new cards, setting up and training new users, providing support to questions and issues, and reporting on critical program metrics.
- Assist internal audit with card program audits by providing reports and updating system parameters to ensure adherence to policies.
- Identify problems and inefficiencies within accounting processes and suggest and implement improvements.
- Provide assistance with new system conversion and enhancements.
- Aid in the research and interpretation of US GAAP accounting literature as necessary.
- Support the coordination and preparation of quarterly and annual financial audit schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, strongly preferred.
- At least two years of professional accounting work experience.
- Experience in public accounting or with a SEC reporting company, preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Ability to independently plan, prioritize and carry out simultaneous projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization through verbal and written communication.
- Working knowledge of PC-based applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
- SAP knowledge preferred.
