CNC Press Brake Operator

As a CNC Press Brake Operator at Blue Bird, you will be responsible for operating a press brake machine to form and shape metal parts. The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating press machines and possess a strong understanding of lock out/tag out procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Select and position dies and punches in the bed and ram of the press
• Program stops on the machine and reposition stock to run through steps required to form parts to completion
• Verify dimensions of work pieces
• Perform First Piece Inspection as required
• Manually program the controller to required specifications
Additional Requirements:
• Maintain a high level of productivity and quality
• Follow work center procedures as defined
• Understand and follow instructions given in job routers
• Document and notify Quality of any discrepancies and/or nonconformances
• Note any changes and/or recommendations that are needed for future production runs
Education and Skills:
• High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
• Certificate from technical school and/or six months related experience
Math Skills:
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, will help Press Brake Operators understand instructions and ensure accurate measurements.
Measuring Tool Usage:
The use of measuring equipment, such as scales, calipers, and protractors, is necessary to ensure quality specifications are achieved.
Problem Solving Skills:
Press Brake Operators must be able to identify and alert supervision to any machine performance issues.
Attention to Detail:
A high level of attention to detail is critical to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Stamina:
Press Brake Operators work in a fast-paced environment, performing repetitive movements for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and stand for long periods of time. Maintain a safe work area, keep work area clean and organized, and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
