We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter Paramedic to join our team at the City of Dubuque. As a Firefighter Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing advanced life support, emergency medical care, and firefighting services to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

• Respond to emergency medical calls, assess patient conditions, and administer medical interventions
• Engage in fire suppression activities, including deploying hoses and operating firefighting equipment
• Perform technical rescues, such as extricating individuals from vehicles and confined spaces
• Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance medical and firefighting skills
• Provide compassionate and effective customer service to individuals in distress

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Iowa driver's license
• Current State of Iowa Emergency Medical Technician certification or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician certification

• Experience as a paramedic or in an emergency medical service role

Duties are performed in an outdoor or indoor work environment involving all types of weather and include significant risk of personal injury or potential exposure to hazardous substances.
