Job Description

Mohawk Opportunities Inc. is seeking a part-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team.

The ACT Team is an evidence-based treatment program that provides flexible, comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation services to individuals with severe mental illness in their community.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing psychiatric assessments and treatment, educating the team on psychiatric illness and treatment, and overseeing medication administration.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting person-centered psychiatric assessments and developing treatment plans
  • Collaborating with nursing staff and medical providers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Prescribing psychiatric medications and monitoring their efficacy and side effects
  • Providing education and support to clients and their families
  • Participating in treatment planning meetings and supervising the development of comprehensive treatment plans

Requirements:

  • NYS Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a minimum of three years of experience in psychiatry
  • Strong clinical skills and experience working with individuals with serious mental illness
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and establish trusting relationships
  • Valid and insurable driver's license
