Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse II to join our Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit team at MUSC. As a critical care nurse, you will provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process.
Responsibilities:- Deliver safe and effective care to patients with complex cardiac conditions, including congenital heart disease and cardiac surgery.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and unit performance.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year of pediatric critical care, peds cardiac, or adult critical care work experience as a registered nurse.
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a 14-bed Beacon Award-Winning unit, serving as the referral center for all major pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina. Our team provides care for patients with a range of cardiac conditions, including cardiac surgery, Ventricular Assist Devices, and Heart Transplant.
We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment, with a staffing mix that includes Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and Unit Secretaries. Ancillary supportive services, such as Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacist, are also available as needed.
