Position Overview

We are seeking to fill the position of Embryologist I at HFI-Assure Fertility Partners of Houston. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Laboratory Director, Supervisor, and fellow team members, ensuring a cohesive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage embryology tasks such as egg retrievals, embryo transfers, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, Assisted Hatching, sperm preparation, embryo culturing, evaluation, monitoring, and cryopreservation of embryos, eggs, and sperm.
  • Conduct semen analyses, including assessments of sperm count, motility, morphology, and viability using manual microscopic techniques. Perform routine sperm preparations for inseminations and cryopreservation.
  • Engage in Laboratory Operations as required.
  • Maintain precise and up-to-date cryopreservation records. Accurately accession and document donor and autologous frozen sperm specimens upon receipt, thawing, disposal, or transfer.
  • Record patient care services by documenting in patient and departmental records and organizing clinical documents.
  • Exhibit a strong aptitude for laboratory service performance.
  • Demonstrate a solid work ethic and a desire to learn laboratory procedures.
  • Show the ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment.
  • Possess the capability to access, input, and retrieve information using computer systems.
  • Have knowledge of office procedures and equipment (e.g., computers, fax machines, copiers).
  • Participate in effective communication with colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s or higher degree in a relevant scientific field.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a human IVF laboratory setting.
  • Availability to participate in a rotating schedule for weekend and holiday coverage.
