Job SummaryNexus MedPro Staffing is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in Taylorsville, NC. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with respiratory conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Administer Respiratory Care: Administer standard respiratory care, including aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, oxygen therapy, arterial cannulation, and arterial punctures.
- Evaluate Medical Orders: Evaluate the appropriateness of medical orders and ensure that they are implemented in a timely and effective manner.
- Apply Ventilator Modalities: Proficiently apply mechanical ventilator modalities, including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP).
- Perform Invasive Procedures: Perform invasive procedures, including arterial blood gas acquisition and endotracheal intubation.
- Participate in Code Team: Serve as a member of the code/emergency team and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Assist with Patient Transport: Assist in the transport of patients requiring mechanical ventilation or airway protection.
- Interpret Clinical Data: Interpret clinical data to optimize patient clinical objectives and improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in Clinical Rounds: Participate in clinical rounds with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Assist with Bronchoscopy: Assist with bronchoscopy procedures as needed.
- Perform Pulmonary Function Testing: Perform pulmonary function testing as required.
- Facilitate Liquid O2 Tank Refills: Facilitate the refilling of liquid O2 tanks as needed.
- Provide Airway Management: Provide for all aspects of airway management, including aspiration of established airways, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, endotracheal intubations, and extubations.
- Manage Ventilator Care: Manage ventilator care, including setting up the ventilator and verifying function using specialized ventilator modes to manage the patient's disease process.
- Record Patient Information: Record completely all pertinent information pertaining to patient care procedures per hospital and departmental policies.
- Respiratory Therapy Experience: 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy required.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program required.
- Licensure/Certification: North Carolina State Licensure, Registry RRT/CRT by the National Association for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), and Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
