Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Loan Officer to join our team at Evernorth. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the loan process, from origination to closing, including marketing and new business development, underwriting, credit analysis, and loan funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Work closely with our Director of Lending and Community Investments department to cultivate lending prospects and develop external relationships with industry partners, including real estate owners and developers, public agencies, and community organizations.
  • Loan Origination: Ensure prompt and thorough review of financing requests, including reviewing loan applications, gathering due diligence items, conducting preliminary pro forma analysis, and preparing project feasibility and credit underwriting memos.
  • Loan Closing: Facilitate timely closing and funding of loans in accordance with approved financing terms, including coordinating with other team members and departments, preparing and finalizing loan documents, and reviewing closing statements.
  • Business Process Improvement: Assist in establishing, communicating, and maintaining efficient and effective workflows to carry out production and administration of loans, including collaborating with team members to promote continuous business process improvement and participating in internal working groups to develop and implement data systems and tools.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in multifamily real estate finance, development, and/or affordable housing finance program administration
  • Preferred Qualifications: 5 or more years of professional multifamily real estate finance and/or affordable housing and community development lending experience, professional experience with a CDFI, and working knowledge of affordable housing finance programs such as state agency financing programs, federal low-income housing tax credits and tax-exempt bonds, HUD and USDA-RD federally subsidized mortgage products, and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae affordable housing products.

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and prioritize responsibilities, work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, and consistently produce high-quality work products

  • Ability to travel (20-25%) throughout Evernorth's service area
