Job Description and Duties

This position is located in the Food Service department at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Home of California-Redding.

As a Culinary Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to veterans and staff. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all food is prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and service, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will be required to work in a team environment, collaborating with other staff members to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.

Working Conditions

Working overtime may be a requirement of this position. You will be required to wear a uniform and follow all food safety and handling procedures.

Special Requirements

Successful completion of a live scan and a pre-employment physical (including drug testing for certain civil service classifications) will be required.
