Job Summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer Systems Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing sensor system architectures and defining key capabilities and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and develop sensor system architectures and definition of key capabilities and performance requirements
* Create, evolve, and maintain the System Architecture that supports customer requirements, cost, and development schedule, including modularity, scalability, and extensibility
* Develop thorough definition of system interfaces
* Define the system implementation approach and operational concept
* Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
* Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
* Perform system performance modeling
* Lead / oversee technical work products developed by the larger engineering team, supporting design reviews and integration and test activities as needed

Requirements

* Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and a minimum of 14 years of experience in systems and product development; OR Master's of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and a minimum of 12 years of experience in systems and product development; OR PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 9 years of experience in systems and product development
* Must have a current/active Secret Clearance and be able to obtain approval of Special Program Access prior to start
* Willingness to work on-site full-time in a program area
* Experience with the following topics: RF Systems Engineering, Radar Design / Development, Relevant Algorithm development, Previous MATLAB experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Special Access Program (SAP) Current
* Leadership experience with development and/or production program execution
* Experience leading technical teams
* Digital Signal Processing (DSP) experience
* High proficiency in technical problem solving; to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation and monitoring
* Multi-disciplined knowledge in areas related to engineering including systems design, hardware, software and firmware design, integration and test
* RF or EW technology background with sensors development and implementation experience
