About the Role

The University of California, Irvine seeks a skilled Registered Clinical Nurse to join our team in the 2 East Tele unit at Lakewood. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Current CA RN License and maintain current.
  • Current BSN and maintain current.
  • Current BLS and ACLS and maintain current.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year acute care related experience.
  • Must be able to transfer and lift patients as necessary.
  • Must have the dexterity, coordination, and visual and auditory acuity to perform all job responsibilities.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be free from signs of illness and infections.
  • Basic Critical Care Course or equivalent on-the-job training as validated by competency assessment.
  • Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation.
  • Care of patients with chest pain.
  • Competent in care of patients post critical care: Acute MI, CABG, post pacemaker insertion, or other cardiac surgery, or interventional procedures.
  • Competent to care for patient receiving moderate sedation.
  • Competent to care for patient receiving cardioversion.
  • Competent to administer cardiac medication safely.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
