About the Role

CGB Enterprises is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grain Handler Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling of grain at our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in our comprehensive safety program and attend daily pre-shift meetings to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety, and environmental regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Transfer, load, and move grain to designated locations while maintaining grain quality.
  • Perform tasks related to grain storage and transfer, including weighing and grading.
  • Complete documentation accurately and legibly to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, shoveling, washing, and painting.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including dryers, as required.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Operate heavy equipment, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
  • No prior experience required; 1 year of experience in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete documentation requirements.
  • Ability to follow directions and use logical thought processes to interpret instructions and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Physical Demands and Requirements
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 45 pounds occasionally.
  • Push and pull up to 100 pounds frequently, as required.
  • Climb, bend, and twist occasionally.
  • Open truck hoppers, as required.
  • Stand and walk frequently.
  • Grasp and reach frequently.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing, including use of two-way radio.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Climb stairs and ladders to significant heights.
  • Work in confined spaces.
  • Meet requirements for PFT and fit testing, as required.
  • Meet requirements for PPE, as required.
  • Distinguish differences in intensity or quality of odors, as required.
  • Work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts, as needed.
  • Walk on barge surfaces and work around deep water, as required.
  • Open silo bin doors and rail car hoppers, as required.
  • Use near, far, and peripheral vision and depth perception for tasks, as required.
Environmental Conditions

The work environment is representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in various weather conditions, frequently using personal protective equipment. Travel may be required, up to 20% of the time, for off-site training and/or work at alternate locations.
