About the Role:

The Avionics Manufacturing Engineering team at Relativity Space is seeking a seasoned leader to drive operational excellence and optimize manufacturing workflows. As a Lead of Avionics Manufacturing Engineering, you will play a crucial role in developing and guiding the manufacturing team while defining key projects, goals, and initiatives.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on build and test of electromechanical systems.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams, with a track record of driving operational excellence through new product introductions.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Failure Mode Effects Analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and address production inefficiencies, implement process improvements, and optimize manufacturing workflows.
  • Familiarity with soldering, harnessing, or test standards such as IPC or J-STD or similar.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • 7+ years of experience in avionics manufacturing or aerospace systems, with a background in production optimization.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent expertise in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience standing up high-volume production processes and tracking systems.
  • Experience success in leading large-scale projects and initiatives that significantly improved production efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
