We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Registered Nurse to lead our healthcare team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for coordinating operations to ensure high-quality patient care in a safe and healing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and manage the work of at least three (3) employees, including at least one Registered Nurse.
- Apply the KP Nursing mission, vision, values, and behaviors in daily practice, understanding the needs and setting priorities for the department.
- Provide professional leadership and direction to department personnel to maintain efficient delivery of effective patient care.
- Coordinate departmental operations, delegate tasks, and serve as an excellent staff role model for professional nursing practice.
- Uphold compliance with Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and accreditation and licensure requirements.
- Champion new ideas, actively collaborate with others through the change process, and act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees, registry, students, and other team members.
- Collaborate with or refer to manager/clinical nurse specialist/educator any outstanding issues or concerns on the unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Participate in activities related to patient flow, including admission and discharge processes, and facilitate inter-professional/interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
- Serve as a resource for clinical concerns, scope of practice, and applicable state and federal regulations, as well as operational concerns of providers and staff.
- Demonstrate flexibility in work schedule to meet department demands, facilitate and relieve staff breaks, and actively involved in assigning, orienting, and precepting and coaching staff as needed.
- Conduct audits and ensure that documentation reflects thorough assessments, incorporates physical and psychosocial findings, diagnostic tests, learning needs, barriers, multidisciplinary education plans, and age-appropriate care.
As a Charge Registered Nurse, you will participate/lead various aspects of department operations, staff competencies, department committees, and Unit-Based Teams, ensuring high-quality patient care and a positive work environment.
