Position Title: Consumer Loan Processor

Department: Loan Operations - Consumer

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Consumer Loan Processing Team Leader

Role Summary:

The Consumer Loan Processor plays a vital role in collaborating with Member Service Officers and members to facilitate timely and efficient loan funding. This position is responsible for gathering and preparing all necessary documentation for both Direct and Indirect Consumer loans.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Documentation Coordination (40%): Work closely with Loan Advisors, Branch teams, and Auto Dealers to ensure all required documentation is accurately collected and stored. Prepare all necessary loan agreement documents and send them to members via electronic signature platforms. Verify that all underwriting conditions are satisfied and update the system with proof of income as needed.
  2. Payment Processing (25%): Manage sight drafts, prepare payoffs, and release liens as required.
  3. Member Communication (15%): Assist front-line staff in communicating with members to gather any final documentation needed to expedite loan closings.
  4. Document Management (10%): Ensure that all loan documents are properly scanned and stored in the designated document management system.
  5. Training and Mentorship (5%): Provide guidance and support in training new employees within the loan operations team.
  6. Additional Duties (5%): Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Performance Metrics:

  1. Ensure timely funding with minimal errors.
  2. Engage in departmental expectations and participate in weekly meetings to meet performance goals.
  3. Foster a positive workplace culture by adapting to new technologies and changes.
  4. Deliver exceptional service to enhance member experience.
  5. Maintain accurate records of credit union documentation.
  6. Adhere to all federal and state regulations, including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies.

Qualifications:

Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: This role requires significant personal interaction for conflict resolution, relationship building, and cooperation. Confidentiality and discretion are essential.

Other Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills are necessary. Proficiency in data entry and attention to detail is required.

Physical Requirements: The role may require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and involves various physical activities such as standing, walking, and sitting.

Work Environment: The work environment is typically moderate in noise and does not expose employees to extreme weather conditions.
