Physical Therapist Assistant

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide physical therapy treatments to patients in a home health setting. Your primary responsibilities will include performing physical therapy treatments, instructing and guiding patients through functional activities, and observing and following treatment precautions as identified by physical therapists, nurses, or physicians.
Responsibilities:- Perform physical therapy treatments, including the use of modalities, manual techniques, and common exercise techniques.
- Instruct and guide patients through functional activities, such as bed mobility, transfers, and gait and balance activities.
- Observe and follow treatment precautions as identified by physical therapists, nurses, or physicians.
- Observe for changes in patient responses and report changes to nurses and physical therapists in charge.
- Provide daily and timely patient chart documentation of interventions and services provided in the acute care setting.
- Document employee and out-patient treatments, as necessary.
- Provide education and training to patients and caregivers, while incorporating learning style preferences.
- Assess education and training responses.
- High School Education/GED or equivalent.
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience.
- Two years' technical experience.
- Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit, and/or out-patient setting.
- Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in the state of practice.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
