Music History Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Music History Professor to join our faculty at Montclair State University's John J. Cali School of Music. As a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Music History, you will be responsible for teaching courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, maintaining a research profile in musicology or ethnomusicology, and serving as Head of Music History.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in music history, musicological research methods, and special topics courses in your area of expertise
- Supervise adjunct instructors and course content for Music History and General Music courses
- Oversee offerings in Montclair's general education SEEDS program
- Manage content and review of comprehensive exams for School of Music graduate students
- Collaborate with School of Music faculty in curriculum development
- PhD, EdD, or DMA degree required at time of appointment
- Demonstrated success in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level preferred
