Computer Forensic Lab Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computer Forensic Lab Supervisor to join our team at the State of Maine, Bureau of Human Resources. As a key member of our digital forensics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our computer forensic laboratory, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our analytical testing and results.

• Develop and implement unit goals, objectives, and standards to ensure proper accreditation and quality assurance.
• Assist with budget development and monitoring to ensure the unit has the necessary resources to achieve its goals and objectives.
• Plan, implement, and monitor unit operations, including self-audit testing, quality assurance and control, and laboratory safety.
• Research and evaluate laboratory equipment and materials to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
• Examine, analyze, and compare electronic evidence using scientifically valid forensic techniques.
• Interpret test findings and provide consultation regarding laboratory procedures and results.
• Establish liaisons with law enforcement agencies and provide training on proper methods of handling evidence and computer forensic analysis.
• Process crime scenes and collect, package, and receive evidence.
• Write technical reports and opinions of analytical findings and their interpretation.

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in computer science, information security, or a related field, including 2 years of experience in a forensic specialty.
• Expert-level knowledge in areas of computer science, information security, and forensic analysis.
• Ability to develop and implement unit goals, objectives, and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
