PVE, LLC is seeking motivated interns in the fields of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering for an enriching internship experience.
As an intern at PVE, LLC, you will have the chance to collaborate with seasoned engineers and project managers on ongoing projects. Our interns are actively engaged in hands-on work rather than merely observing. Comprehensive training is provided to ensure interns gain valuable skills in design, technical documentation, software applications, site evaluations, inspections, and client interactions. Constructive feedback on performance will be offered, along with the establishment of training objectives prior to the start of the internship.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the evaluation of energy efficiency and carbon emissions of existing structures.
• Conduct surveys and inspections of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with building envelope elements related to construction.
• Assist in the collection and entry of data for energy-saving assessments.
• Engage in digital drafting for energy-related construction initiatives and standard construction details.
Essential Duties:
• Comply with all relevant accountabilities as outlined in company guidelines.
• Participate in walkthroughs and surveys of buildings, focusing on components that influence energy usage, including measurements, photographs, and equipment inventories.
• Familiarize yourself with local regulations, building codes, and legislation aimed at reducing energy consumption towards a sustainable future.
• Aid in the preparation of summary documentation, including photo reports and site annotations.
• Draft various standardized details, notes, and digital templates for building upgrades.
Qualifications:
• High School diploma and currently pursuing an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in a relevant field, or possess applicable work experience.
• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical engineering related to buildings or design support for existing building projects.
• Understanding of compliance processes and collaboration with design consulting and construction professionals.
• Position requires moderate travel and the ability to navigate various environments. A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are necessary.
• Must be physically capable of navigating fire escapes, stairwells, and multiple flights of stairs, as well as sitting for extended periods at a computer.
• Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to varying temperatures.
