Job Summary

As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Under the direction of our Chief of Radiology and Imaging Services Director, you will utilize your expertise and independent judgment to ensure optimal diagnostic quality and patient care.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform patient studies according to established protocols, including placing coils close to areas of interest.
  • Operate imaging and other equipment devices to provide high-quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences and adjusting transmitters and receivers.
  • Interview patients to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and address their concerns, demonstrating exceptional tact, courtesy, and poise when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
  • Orient new hires and train MRI Technologists, students, and trainees in MRI procedures.
  • Train MRI Technologists I in MRI procedures and may be required to direct, check, and train other MRI employees in the absence of the MRI Supervising Technologist.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of continuous recent experience as a MRI Technologist, with proficiency in all duties required of a MRI Technologist II.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support.
Additional Requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in teaching other Technologists.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other incumbents of the organization.
  • Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ARRT certification.
