Job Overview

Hinsdale Tile and Carpet, Inc. is seeking a skilled Commercial Flooring Installer to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for installing a variety of flooring materials in commercial settings, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install various types of commercial flooring, including carpet, tile, vinyl, LVT, and laminate, according to project specifications.
  • Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and repairing as needed to ensure a smooth and stable surface for installation.
  • Measure and cut flooring materials to fit around obstacles and ensure proper alignment.
  • Apply adhesives, fasteners, and finishes according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
  • Seam and stretch carpet to achieve a seamless and professional appearance.
  • Set and grout tile with precision and attention to detail.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of completed installations to ensure they meet quality standards and customer expectations.
  • Address any defects or issues promptly, striving to achieve excellence in every aspect of the installation process.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to troubleshoot problems and optimize workflow.
  • Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries on job sites.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety guidelines while operating tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Interact professionally with customers and address any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on flooring options and maintenance to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a commercial flooring installer, with proficiency in installing a variety of flooring materials.
  • Strong knowledge of flooring installation techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and project specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
