Internship Program Overview

Our Interns & Co-ops are the entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that equips them with the skills to succeed in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you'll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

Summary of Role

GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking highly skilled and motivated Process & Equipment Engineering interns to join our state-of-the-art 300mm factory. As an Engineering Intern, you will work with an assigned Engineer to:

  • Reduce variability in process recovery procedures
  • Improve the ability to detect problems earlier and enhance LOD
  • Reduce the cost of chemicals and qualification wafers
  • Standardize processes across like equipment
  • Enhance process performance measurement techniques
  • Lead improvement projects and present results
  • Collaborate with equipment and maintenance teams, including engineers, technicians, managers, and production employees in a dynamic environment
Responsibilities

In addition to the above responsibilities, you will also:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you must:

  • Be at least a sophomore at the time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship
  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and be in good academic standing
  • Be fluent in English (written and verbal)
  • Be able to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome applicants with:

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience
  • Project management skills, including the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Experience with SPC Controls
