As a Respiratory Therapist on our Home Services team, you will provide clinical assessment and patient/caregiver education regarding ventilation, Bilevel, CPAP, and other high-tech respiratory therapy modalities. Your daily, weekly, and monthly follow-up visits to our home medical equipment patients will ensure they receive the necessary clinical respiratory care services. Additionally, you will provide regular in-services for our HME staff and billing team on equipment usage, billing requirements, patient education needs, and respiratory care modalities. You will also provide support services for patients on ventilators, Bilevel, CPAP, and other high-tech respiratory equipment, rotating on-call coverage as required.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical assessment and patient/caregiver education regarding ventilation, Bilevel, CPAP, and other high-tech respiratory therapy modalities
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly follow-up visits to home medical equipment patients requiring clinical respiratory care services
- Provide regular in-services for HME staff and billing team on equipment usage, billing requirements, patient education needs, and respiratory care modalities
- Support patients on ventilators, Bilevel, CPAP, and other high-tech respiratory equipment, rotating on-call coverage as required
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of current clinical respiratory care experience, including adult, children, and infant applications in areas such as Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Systems, Bi-Level Positive Airway Pressure Systems, Home Mechanical Ventilation, Home Oxygen Systems, and more
- Recent home health experience dealing with respiratory care patients and a good working knowledge of home medical equipment operations
- Prior experience in patient education and training
- Current licensure and good standing with the State of Michigan Board of Respiratory Care
