Compression Molding Operator

Job Responsibilities

As a Compression Molding Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Filling mold cavities with powder or preforms
  • Pressing buttons to close and open the mold
  • Curing the mold for a predetermined time
  • Cleaning the mold of castings and flash
  • Visually inspecting production and repeating the cycle

Additional Responsibilities

You will also be responsible for:

  • Placing inserts on pins in the mold before loading the powder or preforms
  • Following all plant, departmental, and job safety rules
  • Knowing and following all applicable safe operating procedures and rules, including housekeeping requirements
  • Performing essential physical requirements necessary for the job
  • Following standard quality procedures and visually inspecting parts for defects

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Fluency in English
  • Basic math skills, including reading, writing, adding, and subtracting whole numbers
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis
  • Excellent mobility and proper lifting techniques
  • Legible penmanship
  • Communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Previous knowledge of compression molding processes and experience with 5S and Lean Principles are a plus.
