Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician to join our team at the Dayton Area School Consortium. As a Registered Behavior Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting students with special needs and providing behavioral interventions to help them succeed.

Job Summary:

The Registered Behavior Technician will work closely with teachers, related service providers, and other school personnel to develop and implement behavioral plans, assess student progress, and provide support to students with intensive behavioral needs. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, patience, and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement behavioral plans in collaboration with teachers and other school personnel
  • Assess student progress and make data-driven decisions to inform instruction
  • Provide support to students with intensive behavioral needs, including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for students
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and other team meetings as requested
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and behavioral interventions
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in behavioral interventions and special education
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge of behavioral interventions and special education
  • One or more years of experience working with students with special needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Valid Ohio driver's license
  • Ohio educational aide certificate
  • Ability to physically manage students with disabilities
Working Conditions:
