Position Overview:

The Senior Financial Systems Analyst will lead and execute complex process and systems analysis, design, and implementation.

  • Direct process and systems implementation and reengineering initiatives to ensure the highest quality of processes, information, organizational change, and services to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide user support through issue resolution, system modifications, maintenance, training, and development of procedures.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain system controls to ensure data integrity, serving as a liaison for inter-departmental process and systems development.
  • Facilitate maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources within the University of Texas System and the Office of Shared Information Services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support PeopleSoft environments, including configuration, upgrades, patches, and the implementation of new functionalities.
  • Analyze and model the business domain to create a comprehensive understanding of workflows and technical requirements fulfilled by existing and proposed software.
  • Define business challenges and primary objectives for new projects.
  • Identify and validate essential business requirements.
  • Evaluate potential software solutions, including delivered components with PeopleSoft applications, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Create functional requirements in use case format.
  • Coordinate requirements walkthroughs and sign-offs, verifying with user representatives and stakeholders that use cases and process models accurately reflect specific business needs.
  • Contribute to project planning and resource allocation.
  • Oversee team administrative functions, including time management, task assignment, and performance reviews.
  • Travel requirements: 10% frequency, quarterly to various cities in Texas for business process reviews and/or training.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in roles such as Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, IT Analyst, or Computer Systems Analyst.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the software development life cycle, gathering business requirements, designing or modifying IT systems to meet business needs, issue resolution, and supporting any type of enterprise resource planning system is highly desirable.

Working Conditions:
  • Standard office conditions with potential for hybrid work (remote and office).
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
Additional Information:

This position is eligible for the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) retirement plan, subject to minimum work hours and duration.
