Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction through the effective use of curriculum materials and educational software.
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that align with state and school requirements.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers and support staff to provide instructional support and approved modifications to the curriculum.
  • Implement standards for student behavior to ensure a safe, secure, and effective learning environment.
  • Maintain regular communication with students' parents/guardians to inform them of student progress, areas of difficulty, and any changes or situations in home life that may affect school performance.
  • Participate in team meetings to address specific student and parent concerns.
  • Assess student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with research-based practices and developments in the subject area.
  • Respond constructively to formal and informal feedback.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
  • Meet all state teaching certification and/or licensing requirements.
  • Current Arizona state fingerprint card.
  • Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in an education and/or classroom setting.
  • Highly skilled in working with staff and students with diverse needs at various levels.
  • Prior experience working with students in an alternative education program setting preferred.
  • Prior experience in relevant grade level and/or subject matter.
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals and next steps.
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology, including experience with instructional technology, computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
