At SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, we believe that healthcare is more than just a job; it's a vocation. We are currently seeking a dedicated EMT to become a vital member of our Pediatric Transport Team as a MICU Operator.

Position Overview:

This role is essential in delivering high-quality medical care during transport, ensuring that our young patients receive the best possible attention in a safe and friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operates emergency vehicles, adhering to all safety protocols and demonstrating sound judgment in challenging driving conditions.
  • Conducts daily inspections and stock assessments of ambulances to guarantee readiness for patient transport.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the ambulance fleet, ensuring that vehicles and equipment are in optimal condition.
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure a hygienic patient environment and proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Manages inventory of medical supplies and equipment, aligning with patient care requirements and budget considerations.
  • Assists with administrative tasks, including answering calls and relaying important messages.
  • Remains vigilant and operates in a safe manner at all times.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support the transport team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), including at least one year of experience in emergency vehicle operation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively through speech.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular use of vision and hearing to monitor patient conditions and respond to emergencies.
  • Frequent driving and operation of emergency vehicles.
