Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nursing Supervisor in Continuing Care. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of resident care, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards of practice, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the delivery of resident care provided by licensed and non-licensed staff in Continuing Care.
  • Ensure staffing and resident care standards are followed while on shift.
  • Review documentation in medical records to ensure compliance with regulations, nursing standards of practice, and company policy.
  • Participate in the on-call process as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform regular walking rounds through all Continuing Care neighborhoods to ensure nursing staff are providing the highest level of resident care possible.
  • Review, adjust, and monitor nursing staffing on all neighborhoods to ensure appropriate staff is available to provide resident care and meet established productivity standards.
  • Assist in resolving resident/family concerns and grievances.
  • Assist clinical staff in assessing and resolving clinical changes in condition in all Continuing Care neighborhoods.
  • Review resident medical records to ensure completion of admission paperwork, incident follow-up, and resident change in clinical condition.
  • Consult with on-call providers as necessary.
  • Assist in the supervision and orientation of new nursing staff.
  • Lead investigations for injuries of unknown origin, medication errors, and/or abuse allegations as needed or requested.
  • Complete supervisory reports as required by the Director of Nursing.
  • Lead and direct nursing staff in the event of an emergency situation.
  • Provide coaching and counseling as indicated.
  • Conduct training, education, and evaluations as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to oversee staff, residents, and resident families.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to multitask.
  • Computer skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and leadership skills.
Education and/or Experience
  • Registered Nurse graduate from an accredited school, BSN preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office, internet, and web applications.
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years' floor nurse experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, or hospital required.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
Language Skills
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in the English language.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations
  • Licensed in the state as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current CPR certification required.
