About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to join our Behavioral Health team at Bay Area Community Resources. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing education and treatment services to individuals struggling with substance abuse.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate education and treatment groups on-site and within the community
  • Conduct intakes of new clients and discharges
  • Provide individual care management and engagement and retention groups
  • Address client issues surrounding topics of substance use and criminal behaviors
Requirements
  • Must be a Certified or Registered Alcohol or Drug Counselor or licensed counselor by a State of California Accredited Institution, such as CCAPP or CADPT
  • Must be able to work onsite at a facility
  • Previous experience working with the justice-involved population
  • Excellent work ethic; full understanding of and adherence to professional, ethical and legal standards
  • Must be able to clear Livescan fingerprinting & background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Computer literate
