Job Title: Residential Instructor FY 24-25 #27
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Instructor to join our team at Alternative Services Inc. in Connecticut.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor consumer behavior and implement effective interventions to promote positive outcomes.
- Document all shift activities, incidents, and progress notes accurately and thoroughly.
- Provide programmatic and statistical reports as required by management.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for consumers.
- Supervise and safely transport residents to community activities, day programs, and social events.
- Implement medication administration policies and procedures according to DDS guidelines and Agency policies.
- Provide counseling and reinforcement to assigned consumers to address issues of progress, problems, interests, etc.
- Assist in shopping, meal preparation, set-up, and clean-up when on duty.
- Attend in-service training, seminars, or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the Agency.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dually diagnosed.
- Valid drivers license and ability to be insured by our insurance company throughout employment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds, transfer, and physically intervene with individuals as required.
Evaluation and Professional Development:
The Residential Instructor will be evaluated by the Residential Manager three months and six months from date in position and annually thereafter. Opportunities for professional growth and development will be provided through in-service training, seminars, and other Agency-sponsored events.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $40,000-$50,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, and paid time off.
