Job Title: Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at Sigma Systems in Boston, MA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work onsite with our team, providing clinical, education, and therapeutic services that promote optimal oral health.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a Dental Hygienist at Henry M. Client School of Dental Medicine.
  • Provide dental education by reviewing home care, oral hygiene instructions, and reviewing treatment plans with patients.
  • Provide clinical services by exposing radiographs, performing dental cleanings, performing scaling and root planning, administering local anesthesia, dispensing fluoride, and administering therapeutic agents.
  • Follow and practice all OSHA standards regarding infection control and blood-borne pathogens, inspect instruments for sterility, and perform sterilization and operatory disinfection responsibilities before and after each patient.
  • Practice universal precautions, collect patient and clinical data by reviewing and updating medical history, identifying contradictions, and requesting medical clearance as necessary.
  • Perform oral cancer screenings, perio assessments, and charting dental findings.
  • Set up and break down operatories and treatment bays before and after each patient.
  • Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling).
  • Adhere to patient privacy policies in accordance with HIPAA.
Requirements:
  • Vocational, technical, or associate's degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensure as a Dental Hygienist under the state of Massachusetts.
  • Provide proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccine, Hepatitis B, Varicella-zoster (Chicken Pox), Adacel (Tdap), and Tuberculosis (TB) skin test results.
