Rental Fence Installation Helper Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Rental Fence Installation Helper to join our team at American Fence Company, Inc. As a key member of our installation crew, you will be responsible for assisting with the installation, removal, and repair of rental fence panels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing the site area for fence installation, ensuring a safe and efficient process.
  • Locate and understand underground utility safety markings and follow requirements to prevent accidents.
  • Align fence posts using lines or sighting, and verify vertical alignment using plumb bobs or spirit levels.
  • Pound fence posts into the ground, asphalt, or concrete using jack hammers, core drills, or gas/air pounders.
  • Attach fence rail supports to posts using hammers and pliers.
  • Install privacy panels as required, following specifications.
  • Install rental fence panels on posts or stands, stabilizing with sandbags or weights as needed.
  • Repair broken post braces as necessary.
  • Field repair temporary fence panels for quality assurance.
  • Carry panels and materials to the site for installation.
  • Operate forklifts and attachments for loading and unloading trucks and moving materials on company property or at job sites.
  • Remove rental fence panels from the site and safely load them onto trucks for transportation back to the branch.
  • Inspect panels for damage, tag damaged panels, and determine if damages need to be charged back to the customer.
  • Inspect and complete safety checklists for all equipment, power tools, and machinery prior to each use.
Requirements:
  • 1 year of heavy construction experience preferred.
  • Prior fencing experience preferred.
