Cytotechnology Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cytotechnology Specialist to join our team at Sarah Bush Lincoln. As a Cytotechnology Specialist, you will be responsible for participating in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in the processing and screening of cytological specimens to detect evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen slides of clinical specimens, both gynecologic and non-gynecologic, for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions according to departmental terminology and protocols.
  • Mark abnormalities, render diagnoses, and determine cases for quality control or subsequent review with a pathologist.
  • Perform various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective patient care and laboratory operations.
Requirements:
  • Experience with EBUS Procedures
  • Experience with ION Procedures
  • ASCPT certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
