Position Overview:

The Construction Consultant plays a pivotal role in executing a construction planning initiative specifically tailored for projects within the Electrical Transmission domain. A significant portion of the role involves traveling to various project locations to monitor and evaluate the program, which may require up to 90% of the Consultant's time. Effective collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, from on-site contractors to senior management, is essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate and guide construction team members on system concepts, including Last Planner principles, Look ahead plans, weekly work plans, and daily huddles, among other methodologies.
  • Identify and document existing challenges while analyzing root causes of construction inefficiencies and errors.
  • Facilitate discussions aimed at enhancing construction processes, collecting feedback, proposing improvements, and testing solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create initiatives for process enhancement, including documentation, checklists, work instructions, and system implementation strategies.
  • Provide insights into cross-departmental interactions involving Project Development, Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Finance, and Construction Management.
  • Improve communication and collaboration across all functional relationships.

Qualifications Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Construction Management.
  • At least 5 years of experience in field Project Management.
  • 5+ years of back-office experience in Project Management, focusing on planning, scheduling, and information management.
  • Experience in implementing program improvements within an Industrial or Construction environment.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, lean construction methodologies, and improvement tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Technology Management, Construction Management, or Construction Engineering.
  • Experience within the Electrical Transmission sector.

Travel Requirements:

Willingness to travel 50 to 90% of the time with minimal overnight stays.
