Key Responsibilities:
Assist the periodontist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing support during various treatments such as osseous surgery, extractions, and dental implant procedures.
Prepare treatment rooms by setting up and organizing instruments, ensuring all necessary materials and supplies are readily available, and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
Ensure proper sterilization and disinfection of instruments, equipment, and treatment areas, following strict infection control protocols within the OSHA guidelines.
Accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and procedures performed, including updating electronic health records and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Manage dental supplies and equipment inventory, monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and ensuring necessary supplies are available for procedures.
Requirements:
Completed training through an accredited dental assisting program (DANB)
Two years of experience in oral surgery or periodontal care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines
Proficient with Dentrix
Phlebotomy certification and experience in starting IV lines a plus
