Job Overview

Schwan's Company, a leading manufacturer and marketer of quality foods, is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our frozen dessert manufacturing facility in Stilwell, OK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct production and packaging on production lines to ensure company and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Supervise, train, and develop subordinates to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Responsible for interviewing and hiring qualified employees, following equal employment opportunity and affirmative action guidelines.
  • Manage employee performance and skills development, conduct performance appraisals, and administer disciplinary action as needed.
  • Responsible for safety, housekeeping, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem-solving.
  • Adjust daily work schedules as needed to meet production requirements.
  • Work closely with regulatory representatives to ensure all company, state, and federal requirements for food safety are met.
  • Review and sign off on all quality assurance and HACCP documentation.
  • Check product quality, usage, waste, product counts, and weights to ensure performance and attainment.
  • Demonstrate key performance indicator measures.
  • Review and/or prepare and ensure accuracy of various operational reports.
  • Assure improvements and timely distribution of reports and budget information.
  • Maintain constant improvement in making quality products, reducing costs, and following good manufacturing practices.
  • Participate in and support global manufacturing food safety initiative programs, implementation, and compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years related work experience, preferably in food industry manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience, with minimum of 2 years in supervision.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Intermediate knowledge of robotics used in production.
  • Ability to effectively supervise line employees.
  • Strong communication and reasoning skills to provide a positive work environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as USDA, FDA, and BRC, preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of bakery/dough processes preferred.
