{"Job Title": "Senior Cytotechnologist", "Job Summary": "We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cytotechnologist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Senior Cytotechnologist, you will be responsible for performing screening of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cases, identifying abnormal findings, and marking cells in a clear and accepted manner. You will also utilize laboratory database systems to record findings and produce accurate reports.

Responsibilities:

* Perform all work with patient care quality foremost, promoting teamwork and other quality attributes.
* Perform accurate and consistent screening of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens in a time-efficient manner, utilizing APIS appropriately, and billing accurately.
* Maintain proficiency in all section procedures, assist supervisor with updates, and assist with QA activities and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

* Baccalaureate degree in Cytotechnology or an equivalent science, including one year of cytology training.
* 5 years of experience preferred, to be able to QC other cytotechnologists.
* Current certification by ASCP in cytotechnology, and certification in Thinprep and Surepath preferred.

Physical Demands:

* Good vision for daily microscopy work, may be required to lift up to 10 pounds, frequent sitting at microscope, ability to use a computer for daily activities.
* Intense concentration and attention to detail required for most of the daily shift.
